What is Free Admission with EBT Program?

If you currently have an Alabama EBT, you are eligible for free or discounted admission to over 600 museums nationwide.

This program is sponsored by Museums for All, and includes access to all types of museums — including art, history, natural history/anthropology, and general museums, children’s museums, science centers, planetariums, nature centers, historic houses/sites, zoos, aquariums, botanical gardens, and arboretums.

Although the program is targeted at Food Stamps EBT Cardholders, many sites allow EBT cards from other programs, including:

  • WIC EBT Card
  • EBT Card from TANF
  • EBT Card from General Cash Assistance

Participating museums provide reduced admission, ranging from free to $3.00, to visitors presenting their EBT card.

Free Admission with Alabama EBT

The Alabama museums listed below all offer individual admission fees ranging from FREE to $3.00 to individuals and families who have an Alabama EBT Card, and a valid form of photo ID.

This reduced rate is available during all normal operating hours to up to four individuals per EBT card.

Is the U.S. Space & Rocket Center free with an EBT card?

If you receive Alabama Food Stamps, you and your kids can go to some of the nicest places in Alabama for free.

This includes U.S. Space & Rocket Center in Huntsville, Alabama.

However, only general admission is provided free of charge. Special exhibits or attractions are not included in this program.

What Grocery Stores Accept Alabama EBT for Delivery?

As of April 28, 2020, you can use your Alabama EBT card to make purchases online.

You can purchase groceries online for home delivery using your Alabama EBT card at Amazon and Walmart.

Does Instacart Accept Alabama EBT?

Instacart accepts EBT for same-day delivery and pickup options at the store.

Aldi shoppers can place online orders via Instacart and enter EBT-card information at checkout for items covered under the list of eligible food stamps items.

Furthermore, a credit or debit card must be used for non-eligible costs, including delivery and service fees, taxes, tips, and bottle deposit fees in some states.

What Restaurants accept EBT in Alabama?

Since 1977, the Restaurant Meals Program has been an important part of the food stamps program.

It enables qualified elderly, disabled, and homeless SNAP recipients to buy food at authorized restaurants.

Any state or county can enroll in the Restaurant Meals Program.

The purpose of the program is to help expand food access to those who do not have a place to store and cook food, who may not be able to prepare food, or who don’t have access to a grocery store.

Unfortunately, the state of Alabama does not participate in the Restaurant Meals Program.

Therefore, you will not be able to use your Alabama EBT card to purchase food at restaurants, even if you meet the eligibility requirements for the program.

How do I pay with Alabama EBT on Amazon?

EBT cardholders in Alabama can now use their SNAP benefits to shop and purchase food online on Amazon for delivery.

"How to Add SNAP EBT Card to Amazon"

How it Works

To shop online for groceries with your Alabama EBT card, follow the instructions below.

Step 1 – Visit Amazon SNAP EBT Page

The first step to paying with SNAP on Amazon is to visit the Amazon SNAP EBT website. Click here to be taken there.

Once there, click on the “Add your SNAP EBT card” link as shown in the image below.

Step 2 – Login to your Amazon account

Next, you will be taken to a page like the one below where you will be required to log in to your Amazon account. 

If you do not have an Amazon account, click on the “Create your Amazon account” as shown in the screenshot below.

Once you have created your account, proceed by entering your email and password to sign-in.

Step 3 – Add your SNAP EBT Card

Once logged in, enter your EBT food stamps card to your Amazon account.

Type in your complete SNAP EBT card number and “Continue”.

Next, you may be asked to enter your delivery zip code.

Follow the instructions to complete adding your SNAP EBT card to your Amazon account.

Step 4 – Shop for Amazon Groceries Online

When your EBT Card is added you can begin shopping for your groceries online.

You can use Amazon Grocery and Amazon Fresh to purchase groceries online.

As an EBT cardholder, you have FREE access to Amazon Fresh when you add your SNAP EBT card. 

Step 5 – Enter your PIN to Checkout

When you are done shopping and are ready to checkout, proceed as usual. At checkout select “EBT” as payment.

After that, enter your 4-digit PIN for your EBT Card to place your order.

Please note, you cannot use your food stamp benefits or EBT Card to pay for shipping or delivery fees.

If you do not have Amazon Prime and would like free delivery, be sure to meet the free shipping minimums for each program.
